Vines

lyrics

The world’s turning round the lessons I’m learning about myself,
a burden, in a word I’m uncertain,
staying alert to the hurt in my heart
unearthing the person — a better version of me,
but who is the ‘me’?
who should I be when the me that I’ve been is proving to be illusory?

loosen the chains, blood stained and engraved with my name
boarding a plane to get perspective on the game
we’ve been played,
so attached to our thinking
as if it’s actually wisdom
twisting facts into fiction,
stuck in a dream — are we acting or living?
so often trapped in our feelings
playing out patterns they’ve written

Stuck in the space, wide-eyed and flushed in the face
rushing in place, I’m seeing colors and shapes, lines erased,
unify with the divine, I am light and I vibrate,
why wait when time’s an illusion that I made?

The dream of the planet the dreamer of dreams,
dreaming of meaning and projecting the scenes
what we perceive is deceiving, believing the demons,
inventing these reasons and pretending it’s freedom

How many times have you been stuck in a cell
watching your thoughts build a prison of self?
identified with the noise in your mind
cut off from the divine, the only lifeline that can help

Find the vines constricting your spirit
conditions and limits,
when God visits, you miss it
too busy asking “who is it?”
reading the fine print of the tickets to the infinite
not realising that you’re within it

Losing myself, I’m done with proving myself,
self obsessed and stressed by the thoughts that I express
the best days are ahead of me, ego’s the enemy
peace and prosperity, truth and sincerity,
spirit the remedy for the fog of identity,
burn down the effigy, embrace the death of me,
goodbye to jealousy,
find my serenity in high fidelity,
music my therapy
